Home Made Raisins

Quite unintentionally, I've just made some raisins.

On examining an aged bunch of grapes that I'd neglected for a week or so, I discovered that the grapes had turned into raisins, just like the raisins one buys from the shops.

Perhaps I'll try to make prunes from this Summer's plum crop, provided there is one.

What else might I make ? Readers of this blog are invited to make suggestions.

Chillies seem to dry very well in my kitchen; I can never eat the number that they sell you in a single bag in anything less than a couple of months. I've had less luck when keeping them in the fridge, they tend to stay moist and end up going bad.

I'd be very interested to see if you could replicate the odd texture displayed by the dried strawberry fragments that you find in oat-based breakfast cereal clusters; they seem almost to have turned into a strawberry "foam".
